She started as a right winger, using her pace to terrorise opponents but later changed to a centre foward where she also made a mark. The matches commenced early in the morning, with clear skies adding to the great mood. Hudson Park proved to be a tough opponent for the DSG girls on the netball court. By MATTHEW JENNINGS It was a glorious day of sporting action on Saturday 21 July between PJ Olivier and Ntaba Maria who competed in netball and rugby fixtures in the early morning. The girls got the netball action off first, before the boys clashed on the rugby field. The PJ U10 netball girls took 12-0 loss in what was the opening game of the day, followed by the U11 girls’ narrow 6-4 win. One of the team’s founder members, Mandla ‘King’ Sokhanyile, was the guest speaker and spoke of the history of the club and its success.
