By Chris Totobela This week we look at the teams likely to become serious title contenders in the Makana LFA Premier League that kicks off this weekend. Young Eagles who have just been relegated from the Hollywood Bets Regional League will surely come with a lot of experience, having played at the highest level for one season. Losing a couple of players to big teams might be their downfall as they will not have enough time to fill the void left by those players. Sophia Stars has been unfortunate as they have lost out on the final day of the…

The first 15 to 20 minutes of the first half were a bit scrappy, with both sets of players struggling to put their foot on the ball. It was a festive atmosphere with spectators packing the banks enjoying this first opportunity for a rowing event at the dam since 2017. By Scott Jackson The past weekend was another busy one for the cricket club, with matches in Cape Town for the Junior Colts A, and the rest of the club playing various fixtures against Woodridge and Grey High School. The 1st XI struggled in their fixture against Woodridge, losing the toss and being put into bat on a wicket that was always going to be difficult early on after the heavy rains. Early wickets, and consistent pressure being applied by Woodridge, meant that the College batsmen never had time to settle. Despite the best efforts of Myles Sansom (30) and Oliver…
