Gauteng’s newest spinning arena is set to stun crowds and produce engine-roaring entertainment when it launches tomorrow (25 August) at GOG Gardens in Protea Glen, Soweto. The Jeff James Spin Hub is a brand new 400 square-metre arena that is to become the official home of spinning in Soweto, named after the spinning legend himself. The Albany Horticultural and Lilium Society will host a Children’s Flower Competition on 22 September at Johan Carinus Art Centre.  As the drought has persisted unrelentingly and made gardening is extremely difficult, the Society decided on just presenting a Children’s competition. The planning started with a poster competition held between four schools- Kingswood Junior, Oatlands Preparatory, Good Shepherd Primary and Victoria Primary School. Grade 4 boys and girls took part and produced wonderful, colourful and interesting posters. The winning poster for each school will be used to advertise the Children’s Flower Competition. Police is warning the community to be careful if they’re trying to buy a vehicle online because they have have cases where some have been victims of scams. This came to the SAPS’ attention after an individual deposited an undisclosed amount of cash for purchasing a vehicle that he saw online. After the deposit the seller’s cellphone went to and no vehicle was ever delivered to him. Apparently, a stranger came for a test drive of the vehicle, said he liked it and then then transferred the money through telephone banking. The vehicle was given to him but when the…
