In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the St Andrew’s College U16 team emerged victorious with a 2-0 win against Dale College.

St Andrew’s dominated possession from the outset, creating numerous scoring opportunities. The breakthrough came from the penalty spot after a period of pressure from the hosts. The second half saw St Andrew’s maintain their momentum and double their lead. The defence held strong, ensuring a clean sheet and a well-deserved victory.

Meanwhile, in their first game of the season, the St Andrew’s College First Team made a valiant effort against Dale College but fell short by a narrow 2-1 margin. The match was a thrilling encounter characterised by competitive spirit and fine margins. Dale took the lead in the first half with a well-crafted goal. St Andrew’s responded with determination, equalizing from a set-piece. The second half was tightly contested, with both teams displaying great resilience and skill. However, Dale managed to clinch the winning goal. Despite the loss, St Andrew’s showed commendable effort and sportsmanship, setting a positive tone for the rest of the season.

“The U16s showed fantastic discipline and skill, securing a well-earned win. Our First Team, though narrowly defeated, demonstrated great heart and competitiveness. It was a match decided by fine margins, and the spirit in which it was played exemplified the values we cherish at St Andrew’s. We look forward to building on these performances as the season progresses.”
