St Andrew’s College hosted Cambridge High School on Saturday, showcasing an impressive display of skill and dominance throughout the club.

The St Andrew’s College 1st XV asserted their dominance with a commanding 66-12 victory over Cambridge High School. From the outset, College demonstrated their prowess, securing an early lead with three quick tries, capitalizing on their control of possession and territory. Despite Cambridge’s valiant efforts, including a well-executed grubber kick leading to a try, they struggled to contain St Andrew’s relentless attack.

Throughout the match, College executed plays with precision and finesse. Their ability to capitalize on opportunities and maintain momentum allowed them to control the pace of the game, leaving Cambridge High School with limited chances to counter.

Overall, it was a resounding victory for St Andrew’s College, who displayed both skill and determination on the field. The entire club deserves commendation for their outstanding performance and sportsmanship. As the final whistle blew, St Andrew’s College emerged as deserving victors, securing a memorable win on home turf.

Meanwhile, on Friday, 10 May, the St Andrew’s College Hockey Club hosted Cambridge High School for a full set of matches across the age groups. The fixture saw some excellent performances from both Cambridge High School and the St Andrew’s College teams, showcasing impressive hockey talent.

The under-14 A and B teams had convincing wins against Cambridge. The under-16 A team played excellent hockey and managed the game well to secure a 4-0 win, while the under-16 B and C teams also emerged victorious from their encounters.

Both the 2nd and 3rd teams outplayed their opponents and won their matches convincingly.

1st XI Team

The 1st team hockey had a quick start to the match against Cambridge and managed to find the back of the net within minutes. However, Cambridge High School was not deterred by the quick start from the hosts and equalized shortly after. St Andrew’s College dominated possession and controlled the game well. This led to several goal-scoring opportunities which were converted clinically. The game ended 7-1 to St Andrew’s College.
