Past and present fans gathered at Kingswood College for the celebration of the school’s 125th anniversary on Saturday 16 March. A variety of sports and activities took place both on and off campus in a massive celebration of this achievement, with the netball match between the past and present pupils being the one of the highlights.

The netball court was filled with the sounds of squeaky shoes as past and present players went head to head in a dynamic match. The court was filled with laughter and jokes as the players excitedly displayed their skills. By half time, the past players were proudly leading by 6 points to nil.

Their determination did not waver throughout the second half, however, ending with a final score of 9-0 to the past players, showing that some things most certainly do get better with age.

A number of other past versus present matches took place throughout the day, with teams going head to head on the cricket and hockey fields, as well as the tennis court. It was a great way to celebrate the magnificent anniversary of one of Makhanda’s oldest schools.
