    RHINO TEARS PROJECT

Rhino poaching is an ongoing scourge.

The cost of protecting these animals from well-funded poachers is very high. Kariega Reserve near Grahamstown has lost a number of their rhinos.

Kisma and Co, in High Street behind the Yellow House Restaurant, has started the Rhino Tears project, selling attractive necklaces and earrings to raise funds against rhino poaching.

All profits from sales go to Kariega’s rhino preservation initiative.

Thus far Kisma has raised R15 000, a massive achievement. Visit www.kisma.co.za/pay-forward/ for more information.

    RHINO POETRY ANTHOLOGY

The much-anticipated international poetry anthology, For Rhino in a Shrinking World, edited by Harry Owen and illustrated by Sally Scott, is about to be published and should be available this month.

A Grahamstown launch is planned for the Environmental Learning and Research Centre at Rhodes University and all are welcome to attend. The date will be announced as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, for further details contact Harry Owen (heo@hotmail.co.uk) or go to the official blog: http://rhinoanthology.wordpress.com
