About 40 Ward 10 residents attended an ANC meeting at BB Zondani Hall on Sunday to introduce Vuyani Koliti, the ward's ANC candidate for the 18 May local government elections.

ANC's regional executive committee member, Nomhle Gaga urged residents to support Koliti. “We want people who will do what the ANC wants, and we have come up with the name of Vuyani Koliti. We want you to support him,” said Gaga.

One resident urged Kolisi to look at the development of the ward. “We are not sending you to the council to sleep there. Councillors should not work for themselves and their families, but should understand that they were employed to work for the people. We will recall you if you do not do what we ask you to do,” said the resident.

Another resident complained about the lack of houses in the area. “We have been complaining about houses for many years now. I have been living in a shack for 17 years. We 'll be happy if you can look a this issue. "We also have children who have passed matric a long time ago, but they end up in taverns because there are no jobs,” he said.

Another resident pleaded with Koliti not to leave residents behind. “This job will be hard for you if you us behind, but you will succeed if you move with us,” said the resident. Koliti promised to pay attention to housing, especially in Fingo Village.

“We see some development in other areas, but here we see scattered RDP houses. Some people have houses, but others don't,” said Koliti. He said he would come with the council's budget to the community. “I have to enable the community to understand what development projects have been approved by the council, and keep you informed,” he said.

The absence of ANC's branch executive members was noted. "People must attend ANC meetings even if they were not elected to be councillors," additional member of the committee, Simthembile Mamani commented. Gaga urged residents to vote for the ANC on 18 May.
