Chenique Brown, Emily Gunn, Chelsea Kouberg and Danica Meyers are young girls of about 16 years from the Ndlambe area, in Alexandria and surrounds. By Scott Jackson On 18 June, just a few days after the dust had settled on a busy and exciting K-Week, the College 1st XI cricket side left for England to play 11 fixtures in a very short space of time. Whilst some pre-tour preparation in indoor and outdoor facilities was possible, it was fantastic to finally be able to play on turf wickets again, and to get straight into tough, competitive fixtures. By Staff Reporter A new research laboratory, the Electromagnetics Innovation (EMI) lab, was opened last week at the Centre for Radio Astronomy Techniques and Technologies (RATT), Department of Physics and Electronics at Rhodes University by Rhodes University’s Dean of Science, Professor Joanna Dames. Its launch coincided with the week-long South African Institute of Physics Conference and Rhodes University’s 120th anniversary celebrations. The lab hosts some of the most advanced equipment and computational electromagnetics simulation tools for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) research.
