The local side went down narrowly 24-25 against Gelvandale Wallabies after trailing 0-19 at halftime. Brumbies struggled in the first half, making too many mistakes. The two Ndlambe Coastal rugby sides, Kowie United and Klipfontein, are back to their winning ways in the EPRU Sedru Regional League. Both sides recorded victories on Saturday 24 August as the league draws closer to an end. Wanderers vs Kowie United Kowie travelled to Makhanda (Grahamstown) on Saturday to take on the struggling Wanderers at Mickey Yili Stadium. After a slow start, Kowie ended the encounter with an impressive 38-0 bonus point win. The first half was a fairly tight and even as Wanderers’ bigger forwards put pressure on the visitors. The previous week they demolished Despatch 60-14. The Brumbies started like a house on fire when winger Ayprian Biembam Morris rounded off a good midfield break by centre Athi Mfazwe in the right hand corner. The EPRU Sedru Regional League now has a new log leader with two rounds of matches remaining in the competition. Lily White (Blues) are now top of the log after their 29-12 bonus point win over long standing front runners/log leaders Old Collegians (OC) at the Oval on Saturday. Alexandria High School on Saturday celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a four-way rugby tournament. Mary Waters (Mawas) 1st XV rugby side were crowned the Champions over Alexandria, Booysens Park and Chatty. Mawas demolished PE side Booysens Park 65-0 in their first match of the day, scoring 11 tries. Inspirational captain and former EP Craven Week Schools star Cole Kirkwood, was the standout player scoring a hat-trick of tries.
