St Andrew’s Preparatory School hosted The Ridge School for an exciting weekend of cricket from 24–26 October. Players from the U10, U11, and U13 teams competed in T20 and limited overs matches, showcasing their skills and passion for the sport.

The tour began on Thursday with the U9 and U11 teams taking to the field. The U9 boys played spiritedly but could not secure a win, while the U11 team emerged victorious, bolstered by standout performances from Jemillo Adriaan, who scored 54*, and Kyle van der Linde, who added 51* runs.

The U13 team had a special opportunity to play under the lights at Knowling Field, making the most of it by winning their match. Mitha Nosindwa impressed with 61 runs, while Rahul Bhowan’s (The Ridge) sharp bowling secured 2 wickets in his 4 overs.

Friday’s matches were tightly contested, with The Ridge claiming a win in the U9 game. Highlights included an outstanding 100 runs in 68 balls from Christopher Schroeder (The Ridge) and a remarkable 90 off 47 balls by William Waterston (The Ridge). Harry Riley also reached his half-century in this thrilling encounter.

In the U11 match, Blake Anslie celebrated a century, and Jemillo Adriaan had an exceptional bowling performance, taking 5 wickets. Phillip Herholdt added to the excitement with 3 wickets for just 9 runs.

The St Andrew’s Prep U13 team posted an impressive 301/5 in their 30 overs. Nicholas Gordon and Matthew Blaine scored unbeaten 64 and 72, respectively. Ross Ferguson’s bowling added the final touch, with 3 wickets for 11 runs, sealing another victory for Prep.

The weekend was filled with outstanding cricket from both schools, highlighting skill, sportsmanship, and the joy of the game.
