Bathurst-based United Eleven won the Nedbank Cup preliminary round final this past weekend.

In the first semi-final game played at Mamityi Gidana Stadium in Port Alfred last Saturday, United defeated City Aces 3-1 while in the other semi, Seven Stars got the better of Wits 2-1.

The final match was surprisingly one-way traffic with United easing past Seven Stars 4-0 and earning the right to represent the Sarah Baartman District in a provincial elimination round.

United’s team manager and coach Andile Marasi expressed his excitement. “My boys played very well and deserved to win. The provincial games are going to be very tough as it is still pre-season for many of us, but we will try our best.”

All Sarah Baartman District’s hopes will be on United’s shoulders.
