The ANC’s Ramie Xonxa retained his seat in Ward 2, but with a drop of 18% in voting support. Lungile Mxube of the Makana Citizens Front (MCF) captured 15.44% of the vote, while 19-year-old Sivuyile Twatwa of the EFF kept his party’s vote steady in the ward.

Just over 48% of eligible voters turned out at the polls, compared with 49% in 2016.
