For weeks, customers have been putting their till slips in the car, which has been parked in the front of the shop.

On Wednesday at noon around 200 people gathered there for the draw under the watchful eye of attorney Mark Nettelton.

The slips were well and truly shuffled up, as all the till slips were removed from the car and put into trolleys.

From there they were put into plastic bags. No fewer than 12 black plastic rubbish bags were filled with the slips and then numbered.

Numbered balls were then drawn from a separate packet by randomly selected members of the public.

The corresponding bag was then drawn from.

Vuba belongs to the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and was thrilled at his good luck, which he attributed to God.
