Fine Arts Artist, Jennefer Ann Gordon Grant's painting is being raffled in aid of SPCA Grahamstown.

"I painted it for the SPCA. It is from a photo that I saw but then I added my own little touch with the kittens through the broken door. I thought it would be appropriate because donkeys are unique to Grahamstown," said Grant.

While the ill-treatment of donkeys in Grahamstown has been an increasing issue, Grant portrays the donkeys in harmony with their environment through the grandeur created by the smooth brush strokes and warm colours.

First prize in the fundraiser is an oil on Canvas painting of Mick and Paddy (52x68cm unframed) which will be couriered to the winner's doorstep anywhere in South Africa.

Second prize is a one-night stay at the four-star Lanherne Guest House bed and breakfast in Grahamstown and third prize is a bottle of wine. The raffle tickets cost R50 each and all participants have to do is guess the name of the painting.

"It's going really well at this stage and there are over 4 000 entries but we are looking to get even more people to support the SPCA," said Grant.
