Come 3 August political parties will be asking for your votes. But what exactly are they promising in return?

Come 3 August political parties will be asking for your votes. But what exactly are they promising in return?

What better way to find that out than by asking the candidates themselves?

Radio Grahamstown, Rhodes Music Radio and Grocott's Mail in association with the Rhodes School of Journalism and Media Studies have got together to bring you Election Connection 2106 – a series of opportunities to get the answers you need from the people who want to run our City.

Our last debate on 18 May was a live broadcast from Rhodes Campus – which is now a ward in its own right.

Tomorrow, 1 June, is the last of our four Grahamstown "town hall" debates where you can come and join our audience and ask the panel of would-be councillors about their plans for service delivery, fighting corruption and making Makana a better place to be.

An Election Connection team was outside the City Hall on Tuesday 31 May to take questions from members of the public.

We selected four of those to ask during tomorrow's debate. The rest we’ll put to our panellists during the phone-in panel discussions on Radio Grahamstown, Wednesdays 9am-noon 8, 15, 23, 30 June.

You can also send your questions to the Radio Grahamstown or Grocott’s Mail Facebook page.
