Tickets for the Masicule concert are on sale now. The Masicule ("let's sing") massed choir event is back for its third outing on Sunday 8 May and Monday 9 May in Guy Butler theatre at the Monument. 

Rehearsals are reaching their peak this week and, in order to give audiences an idea of what the event is all about, the organisers have created four short videos which include footage of rehearsals and interviews with choristers and organisers.

Special guest star this year is popular Durban-based indiefolk artist, Majozi, whose songs The River, Fire and Darling have topped SA charts and who performed at the National Arts Festival last year.

15 local choirs are taking part, several of which are collaborating especially for the event. These include: Ntsika Secondary School and Sakhuluntu Adult Choir; Diocesan School for Girls and St Andrew’s College; Nombulelo High School and Abancedisi Adult Choir; Victoria Girls High School, Graeme College and Nathaniel Nyaluza Secondary School; Kingswood College and Mary Waters; St George’s Cathedral and Pro Carmine Choir; Signature Sound; Gareth Walwyn directing Run to You.

The choirs will perform with Majozi as well as doing some surprise mass numbers – featuring all 500 choristers on stage at once.
MC-ing the event will be local celebrities Khaya Kondile (Uyabona Ke) and Ayanda Nondlwana (Via Kasi Movers).

You can now get tickets from Makana Tourism Office, Access Music (Ext 6 Joza Hub), Fusion (Pepper Grove), National Arts Festival (Monument) or at the door.
