If you're planning to travel to PE this week – especially if you've got to be there for a specific time like a hospital appointment or to catch a plane – leave Grahamstown earlier than usual.

If you're planning to travel to PE this week – especially if you've got to be there for a specific time like a hospital appointment or to catch a plane – leave Grahamstown earlier than usual.

The SA National Roads Agencey (SANRAL) say that the construction of concrete-lined drains will mean lane closures around the Blue Water Bay interchange on the east bound side.

This will mean lanes merging and delays are very possible during busy traffic periods.

In addition, asphalt overlay works are continuing between the Settlers and the Commercial interchange in both direction and the resealing of the road is to continue in both directions at Neptune interchange – also causing lane closures.
Work on all these sites will continue throughout the week.

Reduced speed limits will also be in operation.

“Motorists must be observant of all lane closures and warning signs, and exercise extreme caution when travelling through the construction work zones,” said Mbulelo Peterson, Sanral Southern Region regional manager.

SANRAL say they would like to apologise for any inconcenience these works might cause.
