Customers and staff were held at gunpoint as four men robbed the Grahamstown Post Office last week.

Customers and staff were held at gunpoint as four men robbed the Grahamstown Post Office last week.

Grahamstown Crime Intelligence officer Captain Milanda Coetzer said shortly before 3.45pm on Thursday 18 February the men, one armed with a pistol, held the staff and some customers at gunpoint and removed an undisclosed amount of money from the Post Office.

"None of the staff or members of the public were injured, but they were all very unsettled afterwards," Coetzer said.

She said the four men made their getaway in the back of a light delivery vehicle; however, no registration number was available at the time of publishing this report.

The Grahamstown Police are investigating a case of Post Office robbery.
