Police have warned businesses in the Grahamstown CBD to look out for three men who bought R23 000 worth of goods at Edgars with a suspected fradulent bank card today, Thursday 2 July.

Crime Intelligence Officer, Milanda Coetzer, said three men entered the store shortly after opening time and bought goods in the region of R23 000.

Among their purchases were two cellphones.

Coetzer said the teller suspected that there was something not right with the bank card.

"When the teller started questioning them regarding the card used, the suspects left the premises. They managed to take two cellphones valued at R7 549-90 each," said Coetzer.

She said police suspected that the trio might attempt something similar at other businesses.

Coetzer said that, while there were no photographs of the suspects, copies of their ID documents were available.
