Grahamstown schools St Andrew's College and Kingswood College will be itching to get back into action this weekend when they open their rugby programmes after the first-term holidays.

Both teams saw action in the Easter weekend festivals, but have had a break since then and will be fresh for the challenges which lie ahead.

While Kingswood travel to East London to play Hudson Park, St Andrew's have a home game against rising Port Elizabeth school Pearson.

The Summerstrand outfit are keen to show they can compete with the region's top rugby-playing sides and this is an ideal opportunity for them to demonstrate their credentials.

St Andrew's started the year with a young side, having lost almost all of last year's team, and although they have lost four of their six matches so far, the experience should stand them in good stead.

Their renowned running game will test the visitors and with Pearson certain to embrace the challenge, it should be a thrilling encounter on the Lower field.

Because of the public holiday, four teams will be in action on Thursday 30 April.

The fixtures, subject to change, are (home teams first, 11.30am start unless stated):

Thursday:

Nico Malan v Humansdorp (4pm),

Kirkwood v Westering (3.45pm),

Andrew Rabie v Cillie (4pm),

VP v Volkskool (3.15pm)

Friday:

Grey High v Daniel Pienaar (3.30pm)
