Brumbies' speedy young backs provided some spark and entertainment using their sheer pace out wide, while their mobile forwards led by loose forward Jason Potgieter, dominated forces against the heavier Wanderers pack.

Brumbies scored first through flanker Jaco Buys after some good work by the forwards, as he outsprinted his opponents to score.

The conversion was missed as Brumbies took an early 5-0 lead.

Wanderers hit back with a penalty to narrow matters (5-3).

Minutes later winger Edgar Tarentaal scored for Brumbies.

Flyhalf Bradley Christian converted to give his side a 12-3 lead. On the stroke of halftime, Wanderers replied with a try as Brumbies led 12-8 at changeover.

The second half saw Brumbies running from all over the park.

Wanderers defence was on song and stopped Brumbies from scoring on numerous occasions.

Brumbies did eventually get past the Wanderers defenders as Man of the Match Jason Potgieter dived over for his side's second try to secure the Mayoral Cup for his side.
