The concern is that the majority of South Africans did not respect President Zuma prior to the 2015 State Of the Nation Address.
What happened in Parliament was a true reflection of the fact that no one respects him as the leader of this nation.
We are not in any way agreeing with the behaviour of the Economic Freedom Fighters to disrupt the very dignified house of this country and turn it into a circus.
At the same time I don't think anyone deserves to be carried out violently out of Parliament.
So it is regrettable that the incident happened, but it was bound to happen if the government does not have a sense of accountability.
It was bound to happen if the government fails to make sure that the citizens of this country get the basic services they deserve according to the Constitution.
Twenty one years ago we were not living in a democratic country. People were not free to behave in any way they liked; in fact, they did not have a say in anything.
Now things have changed we have a right to our own opinion and frankly I am going to say that chaos last night was uncalled for.
We cannot as ordinary citizens be subjected to such behaviour by people who are leading this country; we deserve better and what happened was the worst day in South Africa.
Now our country has become the laughing stock of the world. No one will ever respect South Africa and clearly no one respects President Jacob Zuma: he should have been accountable as the leader of this country and answered questions last year.
He should have made sure that the joint sitting of Parliament is in order so that we as citizens can listen to what is said.
Come to think of it, this is less than a year after he was re-elected as President. If he is not accountable now then it means the next four years of his reign will mean more chaos in Parliament.
There are small children who will one day see what happened in our Parliament and will wonder about the legitimacy of the history of this country when they see such behaviour.
My heart bleeds for Africa especially my country. It seems as if there is always something that is odd and will get the world talking.
If a place that is meant to be safe, such as the chambers of Parliament, becomes a war zone, then it means we and our children are definitely not in good hands.
