Petrol flow is back to normal at BP Makana.

A petrol tanker arrived at after midday Friday 19 December. Corne Pagel, owner of BP Makana said they were without petrol since Wednesday afternoon.

Pagel said they have received confirmation from head office that the petrol supply is back to normal.

Grocott’s Mail reported Thursday that Total, BP Makana and Engen, all situated along Beaufort Street in Grahamstown, were without petrol in the week. It was reported that this was due to the Port Elizabeth depot being under major repairs.

The petrol tanker arrived at BP at 12.20pm on Friday 19 December.

Stephanie van Vuuren, admin clerk at Engen Beaufort Convenient Centre confirmed that they have petrol. She said the last petrol tanker arrived on Tuesday, with the next one scheduled to arrive Saturday.

Shehnaaz Motara, manager at Total garage said they are still without petrol. Total were scheduled to receive petrol by this evening. However, Motora said they will now only be receiving their petrol supply Saturday 20 December after 6pm.
