"No rain is expected on Christmas day, but the afternoon is set to be cloudy," said Tenniell Jacobs of Weather South Africa, Port Elizabeth.
Jacobs reminded the public to keep well hydrated with water and to wear sun cream and a hat to prevent burning when outside. She said that the Ultraviolet Radiation (UV rays) can still cause burns even under cloudy conditions, so people must at all times wear their hats and apply sun cream.
There is a possibility of a light drizzle on Friday 19 December due to a cold front expected to pass through southern parts of the country Thursday evening.
Saturday 20 December is set to remain cloudy to partly cloudy, but the clouds are expected to clear up and the temperature to rise on Sunday.
Another cold front is expected to pass through Sunday night, resulting in a cloudy Monday morning with the possibility of rain and cooler temperatures. No rain is expected Tuesday or Wednesday, 23 and 24 December, but please note that the weather is subject to change.
