Theodore Repinz, with his record breaking shot-put throw of 11,25 metres, was the only Graeme College pupil to set a new record at the schools annual inter-house athletics day.

Theodore Repinz, with his record breaking shot-put throw of 11,25 metres, was the only Graeme College pupil to set a new record at the schools annual inter-house athletics day.

The previous record was set in 2009 and was for a shot of 10,99m.

The event was held on the schools Somerset Field last Friday.

After a full day of track and field events, the final inter-house result was a first place for Vernal, followed thereafter by Hutton, Wiles and Neilson.

The following awards were made at the prize-giving ceremony:

Most Outstanding U9 Athlete: Kamva Mazamisa
Most Outstanding U10 Athlete: Lagon Oerson
Most Outstanding U11 Athlete: Mzubanzi Mnandi and Cameron Rafferty
Most Outstanding U12 Athlete: Andrew McCallum
Most Outstanding U13 Athlete: Ethan de Vos
Most Outstanding U14 Athlete: Theodore Repinz
Narshai Trophy (for the best U15 sprinter): Ethan Langson
Smith Trophy (for the Most Outstanding U15 athlete): Ethan Langson
Howell Trophy (for the Most Outstanding U16 Athlete): Kamva Ntapu
Sieberhagen Trophy (for the winner of the Ladder Relay): Vernal House
Coetzer Trophy (for the best track performance of the day): Azizipho Mngcongo (for finishing first in the U16 100m final in a time of 11.65 seconds.) 

Powell Trophy (for the best field performance of the day): Tiaan Landman (for placing first in the U16 High Jump with a height of 1,65m.)
Bailie Trophy (for the most outstanding overall performance of the day): Mihlali Mancotywa (for finishing first in the Open 100m final in a time of 11.46 seconds.)
Victor Ludorum: Jesse Nel Nel placed first in the Open Triple Jump, Open Hurdles, Open Long Jump, Open 400m and the Open 200m field and track events.
