Greenpop is a social business that believes greening and sustainable living can be fun, popular and accessible for all. They believe in inspiring a greener, more conscious, inclusive movement and do this through tree planting projects, green events, education, social media, ‘voluntourism’ and activating people to start ‘doing’.

Working as an Non-governmental Organisation (NGO), Greenpop has hosted Reforest Festivals for four years running in the Platbos Forest Reserve.

They have to date planted 18 000 trees with an 85% success rate in reforestation efforts on that project.

The response to their work has been phenomenal. People have come together from around South Africa (and the world) to get active, not anxious, about the future of our planet.

Greenpop is on a mission to (re)connect people with our planet by planting trees and having fun doing it.

We live in built environments and it’s easy to lose touch with the fact that we live on earth and it sustains us.

Getting our hands into the soil reconnects us with nature.

Tree planting has benefits that reach far beyond carbon sequestration – different cultures, races and ages come together to do something that benefits all.

The NGO plants trees in urban greening and reforestation projects and hosts green events, educational workshops, and festivals of action to inspire people to get active about a sustainable future.

They pride themselves on making green living fun, educating people on best practice tree care, monitoring our trees and ensuring that together we leave a good lasting legacy.

Greenpop aims to meet like-minded people with whom they can share, learn and connect in beautiful parts of our country and in the process facilitate long-term social and environmental change through high-impact work.

For the first time, Greenpop will bring the Reforest Fest to the enchanted forests of Hogsback to combat the twin challenges of alien invasive species and the effects of deforestation, damaging the land for two centuries.

With the Reforest Fest, Greenpop aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving this incredibly bio-diverse area and natural beauty of the region – and have a good time doing it!

Embark on a journey with Greenpop, and join the treevolution today!
