Businesses around Grahamstown have been affected by the water outages that have been hitting town since Saturday

Pick n Pay faced the situation by filling containers with water at the local spring, while other businesses, such as Revelations, have planned ahead by using their own reservoir tanks.

However owner Lee-Ann Benson is worried her tank will run dry before Makana municipality has remedied the situation, which will force her to close Revelations.

Pick n Pay's Ryan Louw said the demand for water was very high; the shop ran out of water to sell early on Monday morning.

The run on water continued at Oasis, were a multitude of locals stocked up on the shop's purified water.

It was so busy that the manager was unable to even talk to Grocotts Mail because of the high volumes of people coming into the shop.
