A case of possession of dagga is being investigated after a 26 year old male was arrested and dagga worth R30 800 was seized.

Members of the Grahamstown South African Police (SAP) K9 unit were conducting a patrol when they stopped and pulled over a taxi.

Members of the Grahamstown South African Police (SAP) K9 unit were conducting a patrol when they stopped and pulled over a taxi.

On searching the vehicle, a bag packed with several plastic bags of dagga, which was all tightly wrapped, was found. 

The suspect boarded the taxi in East London and was on the way to Port Elizabeth. 

The suspect will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate’s Court shortly, according to a media statement released on 23 July by the SAPS’ Eastern Cape Communications Centre.
