This is after they impressed judges during the Cacadu regional championships held at the Grahamstown City Hall on Saturday 17 May.
Manager and conductor of the full-strength choir, Sam Synod, attributed the success thus far to the dedication, discipline and hard work of the teachers and children involved.
Although the road for the full-strength choir, consisting of 60 vocalists, ended at the City Hall, it is the school's double quartet and soprano soloist who are still flying the school’s flag high.
"I am very proud of my team although a bit disappointed with the senior choir, which didn't do well this year," he said.
Synod said for the past decade the school usually went as far as the provincial and once made the national round.
Synod, a Grade 5, 6 and 8 teacher, arrived at the Joza school in 2001 and quickly took the role of teaching and training the school choir.
The school follows a strict practice regime practising twice a day. The first session is at 7.55am and the last is in the afternoon at 2pm.
