This follows matches under the Sakhulutsha Soccer Development Programme played on the weekend of 9 and 10 November. The teams continue their remaining games in pools A and B to conclude the Junior tournament in the U13, U15 and U17 categories.
In the under-13 matches, Sophia Stars beat Lingelihle Stars 5-1 and Sakhulutsha Youth Development beat Young Killers 2-1.
City Pirates beat Sophia Stars 3-2 and are therefore on standby to play the winner of a match between Golden Brothers and Sakhulutsha Youth Development.
In the under-15 matches, City Pirates beat Sakhulutsha Youth Development 5-1 and Eleven Attackers beat Lingelihle Stars 2-1. That automatically leaves City Pirates facing Eleven Attackers in the final.
In the under-17 matches, Future Stars and Early Birds reached a one-all draw. Future Stars won on a penalty shoot-out by 6-5.
Young Killers beat Grahamstown Manchester United 4-1 and Sakhulutsha beat Lingelihle Stars 3-2. Sakhulutsha is on standby for the final against the winner of the Young Killers/ Future Stars match.
Head Coach of Sakhulutsha Youth Development, Hezekiel Hlungwane, said there had been a lot of progress.
"The team is starting to bond perfectly," Hlungwane said. "We are getting there bit by bit.
"We do have challenges though, such as fields to play on, and equipment.
"We are happy to be helping children stay off the streets by giving them something to do over the weekends," said assistant referee and Sakhulutsha senior player, Solly Molapo. "They spend most of their time in the field and that keeps them out of troubles in the location."
