Every year the Cathedral, like many churches throughout the world, has a special service for what is known as All Souls Day, or the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed.
This year the service will take place on Sunday 3 November, at 7pm. It will take the form of a choral Eucharist.
Those who attend are given the opportunity to light a candle in memory of loved ones. All are welcome to attend.
The Cathedral Choir, directed by Andrew-John Bethke, will be leading the singing. The Mass setting will be the "Little Requiem" recently composed by Bethke, and the 23rd Psalm will be sung to a chant by a former Cathedral Choir Director, Christopher Cockburn.
People are invited to send in the names of those who have died, as these are read out during the service. Please email names to office@grahamstowncathedral.org or phone the parish office. The deadline for names is Thursday 31 October.
