High Street is set for a facelift as Makana Municipality embarks on a project to revamp the centre island gardens from Hill Street to Somerset Street, starting next week.
Parks and Recreation manager Kevin Bates said the gardens would incorporate mainly indigenous water-conserving plants.
The move is backed by the Grahamstown Business Forum, Makana Business Development Forum and Grahamstown Hospitality Guild.
