We are once again very excited about being part of this special sporting rivalry between Kingswood College and St Andrew’s/DSG.

It is a rivalry that goes back many years and whilst it is obviously very competitive in nature, it is a friendly and positive one.

For us as a school, the occasion affords us the opportunity to play a full sporting fixture whereby literally every boy and girl at both the Junior School and the College are involved at some level.

The week’s fixtures end with the 1st XV rugby match on Saturday afternoon, however, we will see numerous netball, boys’ and girls’ hockey and other rugby matches take place before then.

It is always great to witness how much passion is present at these games, be it an U8 netball or first-team hockey match.

It gives each child an opportunity to play their part in this special occasion.

Whilst St Andrew’s and DSG will be expected to win most of the matches played, the Kingswood teams will undoubtedly be very competitive and I have no doubt they will be up for the challenge.

There is a competitiveness that exists amongst Kingswood teams that makes being a coach here a pleasure and a privilege.

I’d like to wish all the players the very best and to challenge them to play whatever sport they play in a manner that will see them leave the field smiling and with their heads held high.

I would also like to thank St Andrew’s and DSG for their hospitality during the next few days.
