Local swimmers Erin Graham (Diocesan School for Girls), Tamlyn Price (Kingswood College) and Brendan Gouws (Graeme College) went to the junior national swimming meet where clubs throughout South Africa send their top talent.

Local swimmers Erin Graham (Diocesan School for Girls), Tamlyn Price (Kingswood College) and Brendan Gouws (Graeme College) went to the junior national swimming meet where clubs throughout South Africa send their top talent.

Known as the National Level 3 gala, the event was held at the King's Park pool in Durban recently. Tamlyn swam in six finals and won a silver medal in the 100 metre backstroke with a new Eastern Province record time of 1 minute and 6,01 seconds.

She also claimed new EP records in the 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly. Erin won a silver medal in the 50m backstroke with a new EP record of 31,02 seconds.

Gouws, swimming in his first ever national competition, narrowly missed a spot in the finals with an 11th place finish in the 50m breaststroke.
