Kenton-On-Sea police are searching for four men in connection with an armed robbery in which one person was shot on Sunday afternoon.

"It is alleged that the complainant, a shop owner, was talking to his friend when two men entered his shop," SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula said.

"One was armed with a firearm and the other with a panga and they were both wearing balaclavas."

The robbers then closed the doors, told the shop owner and his friend to lie down, and demanded money.

They went to search behind the counter and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone.

The shop owner was allegedly shot in the robbery, and police are investigating the matter.
