According to Kenneth May of the night bowls committee, all teams played at least eight of the 15 ends, “which constitutes a game”.
Defending champions East Cape Electrical got off to a good start in their first game, scoring 15-7 against Makana Brick A in their first match. They then beat former night bowls winners Stan’s Transport 12-5.
