The Ocean Racing Series is one of the largest family beach events in Africa and is unique to Nelson Mandela Bay. The series offers a fantastic way to stay fit in a casual, friendly and safe environment.

The Ocean Racing Series is one of the largest family beach events in Africa and is unique to Nelson Mandela Bay. The series offers a fantastic way to stay fit in a casual, friendly and safe environment.

Participants of all ages and fitness abilities are encouraged to join in the fun of the Series which is great for families. Race days are held on mostly alternate Sunday mornings throughout summer and there are five events to choose from: 1km and 2km ocean swims, a 5km run or walk beach event and a 1km kids' (12 and under) run.

The next Ocean Racing Series event takes place on 13 January 2013.

Great weather was the order of the day for the round three (last Saturday) of the Ocean Racing Series, with another great turnout.

Swimmers were taken the long way round when they swam 1.35km and 2.7km (instead of 1km and 2km) in the Ocean sea swims.

Blustery cold conditions felt more like a winter series during round two (25 November), but despite this, the support was good with over 300 entries.

About IT Triathlon Summer Series starts with race 1 on Sunday 16 December, 8am (Port Elizabeth) Pollock Beach. Race 2 takes place on Sunday 23 December, 8am (Port Elizabeth) Pollock Beach and race 3 is on Wednesday 26 December, 8.30am (St Francis Bay) Port St Francis Triathlon.
