Graeme College boys took advantage of last Thursday's hot weather to don their athletics gear and give their best performances at the school's sports day. Three old records fell at the events held on the school's Somerset Field and there were a few close shaves for athletes who nearly surpassed the efforts of their predecessors. Dallin Blignaut broke the U15 shot put record with a new throwing distance of 12,9 metres. The old record of 12,54m was set by A Banfield in 2009. New records were also set for both the U13 and U14 staggered relays. Hashe cleared 1,85m while Twum-Boafo ever so narrowly missed the best 100m time of 11,50 seconds. He ran it in 11,54 seconds.
