Independent recording label Buttabing Entertainment will be showcasing some of its hottest signings in Grahamstown tomorrow. Hip-hop artists Kwesta, Lebo Shugsamakx Mothibe and Slikour feature in the line-up for an Eastern Cape tour that begins tonight in East London and ends in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
Independent recording label Buttabing Entertainment will be showcasing some of its hottest signings in Grahamstown tomorrow. Hip-hop artists Kwesta, Lebo Shugsamakx Mothibe and Slikour feature in the line-up for an Eastern Cape tour that begins tonight in East London and ends in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
Kwesta, a young rapper from Katlehong, in the East Rand, was named eTV’s Rising Star of the year last year after the release of his debut album, ital Special Rekwest ital and is an artist to watch.
Joining him will be Lebo Shugasmakx Mothibe, co-founder of the iconic local hip-hop brand Skwatta Kamp, and director of Buttabing Entertainment and Ventilation Production. Shugamakx has just released his second album ital The Shuga Factory ital, which features both Mandoza and Moneoa.
Slikour, who used to sing alongside Mothibe in Sqwatta Kamp, headlined the Port Elizabeth 2011 New Year Party and will be adding his unique sound to this dynamic group of musicians.
The trio has performed all over the country including Polokwane, Cape Town, Welkom, Kimberley and Bloemfontein and will be giving three special performances in celebration of Freedom Day.
The first will be in East London today, the second in Grahamstown tomorrow and the last show will be in Port Elizabeth on Saturday. The tour details are as follows:
Tonight in East London, Shugasmakx Slikour will perform at Incognito at 9pm. Tickets at the door R50.
Tomorrow at Prime, in Grahamstown at 9pm, Kwesta, Shugasmakx Slikour will perform. Tickets at the door R50.
On Saturday Kwesta, Shugasmakx and Slikour will perform at The Boardwalk in Port Elizabeth at 4pm. Tickets, from Computicket, cost R100 includes the afterparty which starts at 9pm. Tickets for the afterparty only maty be bought at the door for R50.
