Springvale Olive Estate near Alicedale is set to hold an ultimate gourmet experience for the whole family on Saturday 28 April. The Estate will be hosting olive grove tours, tastings, olive oil pressing demonstrations and will be laying out delicious Mediterranean platters for two at R200 in the orchard. Children are more than welcome and can be treated to a packed lunch for only R30. Olive-lovers even have the option of picking and weighing their own olives from 2pm onwards.

Springvale Olive Estate was established 10 years ago and produces olives and olive oil from 12 different varieties of olives. Some of the Estate's products include preservative-free tapenade, depitted sundried olives with herbs, garlic-stuffed olives, chilli-stuffed olives and succulent whole olives flavoured with lemon, garlic and rosemary. There will also be a selection of Retief Goosen wines on sale. Those attending should bring a picnic blanket and cash as the Estate does not have a credit card facility.

Bookings are essential and can be made with Lea Davies on 082 520 6874 and lea@bosberg.co.za or Lisa Micklewright on 083 229 3973 and l.micklewright@dsgschool.com. Bookings are open until Friday 27 April and there are two slots to choose from: a morning session which starts at 10.30am and an afternoon session which starts at 12.30pm.
