Competitions, demonstrations, live entertainment and hundreds of stands exhibiting goods from farm produce to floral art – that's what an estimated 20 000 visitors can look forward to at the annual Bathurst Agricultural Show from Friday 30 March to Sunday 1 April at the Bathurst Showgrounds.

“Our stand bookings have been very good,” says the administrative co-ordinator, Pam Johnston. “So there will be a large variety of things to look at and buy, from Ben Buizenhout’s books to camping equipment, trucks and alternative solar equipment.”
Performances will also complement the merriment. Popsi the clown and her team of entertainers will provide lucky children with free rides on her special train while the prettiest and ugliest hounds in the Fun Dog Show and fancy dress barrel racing will provide laughs for kids and adults alike. While they are entertained, guests can munch on a range of different foods.
“This year we have endeavoured to choose stalls that will give a variety of eats, including health snacks and shakes,” says Johnston. Visitors can indulge in homemade ice-cream and Easter eggs or take home some organic natural honey.
To bring song to the festival, the DSG Marimba Band as well as Kingswood's Jazz band will provide tunes for the crowds. “Kowie FM will also be at the show to keep things lively,” says Johnston.
