Three local boxers, Bongani Mabona, Thandile Mayi and Zikhona Skeyi said they are ready to box against a team from KwaZulu-Natal, in a friendly organised by Eastern Cape Amateurs Boxing organisation.
Recently, the local boxers were selected in the Ecabo tournament to represent the province.

"I've been training to make sure that the Grahamstown boxing is on the map," said Mabona, urging the community to support local talent.
Coach Bulelani Ndwayana said local boxing would grow this year and that local boxers had shown great promise.
"This is not the time to play, we will organise tournaments to make sure that boxers practise their fighting styles," said Ndwayana.
Mfuzo Dyira, the manager, said that the boxers were fit and had their hearts in boxing.
"They will not only represent the province, but the name 'Grahamstown' will be recognised by the country," said Mfuzo.
Meanwhile, Ndwayana said there would be a boxing tournament at the Noluthando Hall on Saturday. The event is hosted by the Masibambane Boxing Club, and all local boxing clubs will be taking part and supporting the event. Boxers weigh in from 9am, and the doors to the hall will open at 10am.
"We will start ringing the bell at half past ten," said Ndwayana.
