Grahamstown based artist aMan Bloom and his girlfriend Sukhmani Mantel, both from America, donated a 54cm Hisense television system to Radio Grahamstown recently. Bloom, who came to the radio station to deliver the TV, said he had always loved Radio G (as it is affectionately known) for what it did for the community.

Bloom said he had been taking the TV to Videotronic to get it fixed, because it was broken.

“That is where I met Khaya (Radio G’s head of news) and he told me that they needed a TV at the station,” he said. “I spoke to my girlfriend about it, and we agreed that once the TV is fixed we will give it to the station. It just happened like magic.

"To me this is a way of saying thanks to them for what they do.”

Midday Camp presenter at the station, DJ Prince, was delighted that they now had a TV in the studio, saying they'd needed one. He said that it was going to help them get more information to share with their listeners. “When the internet is down, at least we will another source of information so that we can keep our listeners updated,” he said.
