On Wednesday morning St Andrews Preparatory boys ‘unearthed’ a time capsule which had been placed into wall in the school’s Griffin Building in April 1962.

The unearthing took place as part of a number of activities being conducted this year to commemorate the school’s 125th anniversary which is themed 'Celebrating Our Past, Creating Our Future'.

The boys are preparing their own 2010 time capsule that will serve as a permanent record for learners in years to come. “We have collected a lot of goodies and things like photos and other memorabilia of the boys and they have signed down their names to be put on the capsule which will be built as part of a new Art and Technology Centre to be built definitely in 2011 once we have reached our fund raising target," said Sasha Scholtz, the school’s Marketing Officer.

"In all this will serve as a remembrance to the boys in future years." The Griffin 1962 time capsule will be put back into the wall just as it was.
