This Fund Run will be a fun relay event with a serious aim of raising funds for Rhodes University's Green Fund which supports initiatives that reduce the University's carbon footprint.

Each team member runs approximately 1,010 metres, so running 5 kilometres is a great way to involve plenty of people in the greenest fun run yet.

With 1,010 teams of 5 people at R10 per person (or R50 per team) the Green Fund Run would raise at least R50,500.

The Green Fund Run is registered as a 10/10/10 GLOBAL WORK PARTY with 350.org. The hope is that 1,010 events will be organised in 110 countries involving 1,010,100 individuals.

The aim of the event is to get people around the world to work to start changing our communities, and get to work to make our leaders realise that they need to lead.

By doubling the entry fee participants can help the fund reach Their target of R101,010. The run is open to anyone who will be able to run 5 kilom etres, with one team member running a kilometre and individual entries are also welcome.
