I hope and pray that for all of you Easter was a wonderful and blessed time not only of rest and play, but also a time when you have had a personal encounter with Jesus.

Perhaps for some of you this is the first time you have met with Him and I hope that you will treasure that experience for the rest of your lives.

I hope and pray that for all of you Easter was a wonderful and blessed time not only of rest and play, but also a time when you have had a personal encounter with Jesus.

Perhaps for some of you this is the first time you have met with Him and I hope that you will treasure that experience for the rest of your lives.

Maybe for others this has been a time to return to Jesus after an absence so my prayer for you is that as you continue to walk with Him, you will allow Him to strengthen and guide you.

All of us are very different people and because of this our experiences of Jesus are going to be different because He knows who we are and He meets us where we are, just like John and Mary’s encounters were different when they met with Jesus on that first Easter morning (John 20:1-18).

The importance of Easter lies in the fact that Jesus’ ministry did not end on the cross, death has no hold on Him- He is risen and He is alive and because of this we can actually meet with Him right here and now and have these personal experiences this is the good news of Easter.

But we need to remember that these wonderful experiences that we can have of Jesus are not in themselves the most important thing, what is critically important is what we do with them, how we allow them through the power of the Holy Spirit to change and mould us into the creation that Jesus intends us to be so that we are better equipped to do the work that we called to do in the society that we find ourselves in.
