The Californian band, Horse will be performing in Grahamstown on Sunday as the final leg of their Reigns in Africa tour. The tour kicked off on 25 March and runs over 17 days with a total of 12 performances.

The official tour website says that, “They’ve toured pretty much everywhere except this lonely Dark Continent, and we’re proud to finally have them on our shores.”

The band played at Splashy Fen music festival last Sunday and were warmly received. The band’s sound has been described as “Nintendo- Core”, as they combine 8-bit Nintendo influences with metalcore.

in 2004 the band did a world tour in which they visited seven countries and played 85 shows, in 2008 they did it again but this time travelled to 40 countries for their Horse the Band Earth Tour.

In both of these tours South Africa was missed out, but they are now finally here. Two of our very own Grahamstown bands will be supporting, Kill The Witness and The Escape Goats with Jam Room and Amery Litszt coming all the way from Port Elizabeth, this promises to be a night not soon forgotten.

Bands start at 5pm at the Scout Hall with a cover charge of R50, do not miss out on this once in a lifetime experience.
