An introduction to the world of soccer, Little Kickers is a fun and energetic programme for children ranging from 18 months to eight years.

The goal of Little Kickers is to use soccer as a means to instil confidence, improve co-ordination and create a sense of camaraderie among young players.

Divided into age appropriate groups, the classes are specially designed to suit the age of the children. Little Kickers offers four different groups for both girls and boys: Little Kicks (18 months to two years);

Junior Kickers (two to four years); Mighty Kickers (four to six years) and Mega Kickers (six to eight years). Little Kickers was started by two hardworking moms in the UK, who were frustrated by the limited activities for their enthusiastic pre-schoolers.

Carlo and Cristiana de Costa extended the Little Kickers franchise to Grahamstown a month ago and have been “by no means been dissapointed” by the response.

The pair introduced the SciKids to the programme during this year’s Scifest. They also run classes four times a week at the Multipurpose Centre in Raglan Road as a part of their Outreach Programme or the underprivileged.

Private classes are on Friday afternoons at the Alec Mullins Hall and are presently offered to Junior Kickers and Mighty Kickers, for more information you can visit www.littlekickers.co.za or contact Carlo at cdacosta@littlekickers.co.za.
