The St Andrew’s College Rowing Club took part in the ZRC Regatta in Port Elizabeth, and had a successful day’s racing.

In the open division, the stylish 1st eight stroked by William Cahill won the 6km heads race against the Selborne 1st eight.

The 2nd eight stroked by Nick Jackson comfortably won their event, while St Andrew’s also took 1st place honours for the River Cup event (1st four, stroked by Cahill); the 2nd four event (stroked by Craig Mullins) and the 1st pair event (stroked by Graham Pringle).

St Andrew’s had a second crew in this event, which took silver. Other results for the open division squad were second places for the 2nd double scull and 3rd four events, plus third places for 1st single scull (Cahill), 4th scull (Michael Wilkinson) and 5th scull (Graham Maxwell).

In the U16 division, St Andrews easily won the U16A Eight event (stroked by Charles Price-Smith), the A and B Fours events and the U16A single scull (Marcel Bovijn). The U16 C scull was won by Bradley Pieter, while Charles Price-Smith and Matthew Shone took third place in the double scull.

The U15s had a slightly quieter day, fetching second places in the A and B quadruple sculls (Fraser Muskett and Joshua Alexandre), A double scull (Muskett) and A single scull (Muskett again).
